Installations
Compressed Air Networks

The distribution of compressed air around a workshop or factory must be
via a fixed rigid pipe system; flexible hoses trailing over roof trusses
or around the floor will not meet safety regulations.
The
CCS installation team installs compressed air networks in any
size from just a few outlets to large building systems with arterial
runs and sub-networks. We are happy to provide free quotations for any
size of system.
Traditionally installations have used galvanised iron pipework and
fittings, as untreated pipes will quickly rust from the aggressive
condensate in a system, however there are now more modern alternatives
available in push-fit aluminium, ABS and uPVC. We regularly carry out
modifications to galvanised installations as this is still the
appropriate option for smaller changes, however push-fit aluminium is
now the preferred solution for new systems.
The new technologies are lighter, have better flow rates, and do not
suffer from susceptibility to rust, however the most important feature
is the relative speed of installation and ease with which subsequent
changes and additions can be made. The cost of material is higher
however this is more than outweighed by savings in labour cost and
convenience.
CCS supplies and fits Legris Transair, John Guest Speed Fit and Durapipe
at very competitive prices.
Air Receivers
An air receiver for compressed air storage is an essential component of
all networks. Whereas many smaller compressors are ‘receiver mounted’
CCS also supplies stand-alone horizontal and vertical air receivers for
larger applications. These are normally located immediately adjacent to
the compressor however supplementary air receivers can put at other
points in a network where pressure drops have become evident.
